Our Work
Holistic Wellness: Preparing Pets and People for a Lifetime of Love.
Our work extends into the community through intensive Adopter Education and Support, recognizing that the long-term success of an adoption hinges on the preparedness and confidence of the new family. This is not a passive handout of information, but a structured, mandatory curriculum delivered by our counseling staff, beginning with a detailed review of the chosen animal’s medical history and specific behavioral needs, ensuring full transparency. Education sessions cover critical topics such as crate training best practices, managing the crucial two-week decompression period after adoption, recognizing subtle signs of stress or illness in pets, and understanding the importance of ongoing preventative veterinary care. Furthermore, we equip adopters with resource materials and connection to local training partners who align with our force-free philosophy. Our commitment doesn’t end when the adoption contract is signed; we offer phone and email support for the first six months post-adoption, and personalized follow-up check-ins, creating a robust support structure designed to troubleshoot challenges before they escalate. This proactive investment in human knowledge is as vital as the animal’s rehabilitation, guaranteeing both parties are fully equipped for a successful life together.

Behavioral Enrichment & Rehabilitation
The cornerstone of our restorative work lies in our specialized Behavioral Enrichment and Rehabilitation programs, designed for animals who have suffered trauma, neglect, or lack of socialization and require more than standard care before being adoptable. Our Behavioral Director, Marcus Chen, crafts bespoke programs utilizing counter-conditioning and desensitization techniques to safely address issues ranging from generalized anxiety and noise phobia to specific fear-based aggression, all conducted in a controlled, loving environment. Enrichment involves providing choice, allowing animals to engage with their environment on their own terms, which builds self-confidence; this may include rotational access to different toys, specialized kongs, and calm, predictable staff interactions tailored to their individual threshold for human contact. For animals needing intensive work, we utilize a dedicated network of specialized foster homes that can provide the quiet, consistent one-on-one attention necessary for deep emotional healing. This comprehensive rehabilitation process, which is often time-consuming and labor-intensive, is a non-negotiable part of our mission, ensuring that even the most broken spirits are given every opportunity to heal, re-learn appropriate social behaviors, and become stable, loving members of a forever family.
Play & Exploration
Play and exploration are recognized as essential therapeutic components of our rehabilitation process, integral to restoring an animal’s natural joy and curiosity while building crucial social skills. For our dogs, this involves structured outdoor playgroups tailored to energy level and temperament, where supervised interaction allows them to practice appropriate canine social cues, helping to reduce reactivity and build confidence. We utilize a variety of surfaces and enrichment tools in our secured yards, including scent-based games, digging pits, and elevated platforms, encouraging natural exploratory behaviors that address mental fatigue and boredom often associated with shelter life. For our feline residents, play is focused on satisfying the predatory sequence through interactive toys that mimic prey movement, and exploration is facilitated through multi-level “catios” and access to stimulating visual environments, reducing stress and promoting healthy activity. This daily commitment to physical and mental exercise not only aids in weight management and general health but also drastically improves their adoptability, as a well-stimulated, socially practiced animal is much better equipped to become a calm and engaged family member. We view structured play as essential therapy, guiding pets back to a state of emotional readiness for their forever home.

Testimonials
Adopters Share Their Stories of Grace and Unconditional Love.

“Adopting Barnaby, our 11-year-old Beagle, from SAVED BY GRACE PET ADOPTION SERVICE S INCORPORATED was one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives, and the support we received was truly exceptional. We were initially hesitant about adopting a senior dog due to potential medical issues, but the team’s transparency and the comprehensive medical file provided by Dr. Vance immediately put us at ease; they had already addressed his dental needs and joint issues. Sarah, our Adoption Coordinator, spent over two hours with us discussing his low-energy lifestyle and perfect fit for our quiet home, never pushing us but simply ensuring it was a perfect match. Barnaby is the most gentle, affectionate dog we could have imagined, spending his days curled up at our feet, and his quiet gratitude is palpable every single morning. We are so thankful for their Senior Sanctuary program, which highlights the wonderful qualities of older dogs. They truly save lives and create miracles.”

“We cannot speak highly enough of the behavioral rehabilitation work performed by Marcus and the team before we adopted Jax. He came to them with a history of fear-based anxiety and resource guarding, but thanks to their rigorous, positive reinforcement training and detailed counseling, he transitioned seamlessly into our busy family home. Marcus insisted on a two-week transition plan and walked us through counter-conditioning techniques to manage his minor triggers, which gave us the confidence and tools we needed to succeed. Jax is now a gentle giant who adores playing with the neighborhood children, and he is a constant, joyful companion. SAVED BY GRACE PET ADOPTION SERVICE S INCORPORATED didn’t just give us a dog; they gave us a stable, well-adjusted family member, and the pre-adoption training sessions were invaluable in preparing us for success. Their dedication to the difficult cases is truly what makes them special.”

“Adopting our puppy, Minnie, through SAVED BY GRACE PET ADOPTION SERVICE S INCORPORATED was an organized and deeply ethical process that ensured we were ready for the commitment of a new puppy. Unlike other organizations, they insisted on a detailed home visit and a long counseling session that focused not just on her cuteness, but on her breed-specific energy levels and our training obligations, which was incredibly responsible. Their dedication to early socialization was evident, as Minnie was already comfortable with different sounds and had been introduced to basic crate training, which made the first few weeks much easier. The ongoing medical support and follow-up emails checking on her progress showed their genuine, lifelong commitment to her well-being, proving they are partners in our pet ownership journey. We felt supported, educated, and truly happy to be part of a mission that prioritizes the health and future of their animals above all else.”

“When I adopted Cleo, a stunning calico, I was looking for a calm companion for my apartment, and the team made the perfect match. They were very careful about ensuring she was not a good fit for a home with other pets, and their honesty about her shy but deeply affectionate personality was appreciated. Cleo was initially very reserved, but the instructions provided by the staff on creating a ‘safe zone’ and using interactive, non-threatening play allowed her to quickly decompress. Her medical care was flawless—fully vetted, spayed, and chipped before I even met her. The ongoing support and the warm, genuine follow-up calls from Sarah, the Adoption Coordinator, made me feel like I was truly part of their community. Cleo is now the queen of my home, greeting me at the door every day, and I am so grateful to SAVED BY GRACE PET ADOPTION SERVICE S INCORPORATED for connecting me with my gentle, purring shadow.”
