Eleanor Vance, D.V.M., Director of Medical Operations
Dr. Eleanor Vance joined SAVED BY GRACE PET ADOPTION SERVICE S INCORPORATED after a decade in private practice, bringing with her a wealth of surgical expertise and a specialized focus on trauma and geriatric animal care. Holding a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia, Dr. Vance oversees all medical protocols, from routine vaccinations and preventative care to complex orthopedic surgeries and long-term medical management for chronically ill residents. Her role is paramount in ensuring that every animal is not just healthy enough for adoption, but positioned for optimal long-term health, often designing custom care plans that address conditions resulting from past neglect or abuse. Dr. Vance is known for her quiet, reassuring demeanor with even the most fearful animals and her unwavering dedication to pain management, believing that the restoration of physical comfort is the first step in emotional healing. Her passion for shelter medicine means she constantly seeks innovative, cost-effective ways to provide gold-standard care, making her an indispensable leader in our commitment to animal welfare and a beacon of hope for every sick or injured pet that crosses our threshold, embodying the grace our organization strives for.

Marcus Chen, Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA), Behavioral Director
Marcus Chen leads our crucial behavioral rehabilitation and training department, leveraging his advanced certification and extensive experience working with fearful and reactive dogs to prepare them for family life. Marcus holds a degree in Animal Behavior from the University of California, Davis, and utilizes only force-free, positive reinforcement methodologies, believing that building trust is the key to lasting behavioral change. His daily work involves structured socialization, temperament testing, and creating individualized training programs for each dog, addressing common issues like separation anxiety, leash reactivity, and resource guarding with patience and expertise. Beyond working directly with the animals, Marcus plays a vital role in adopter education, conducting mandatory counseling sessions to teach new owners how to maintain positive training and manage potential challenges unique to their adopted pet, providing a seamless transition from the shelter to the home environment. His comprehensive understanding of canine and feline psychology is fundamental to our high success rate, ensuring that the pets we place are emotionally ready to be resilient, well-mannered companions for their forever families.

Sarah Albright, Adoption & Foster Coordinator
Sarah Albright is the heart of the adoption process at SAVED BY GRACE PET ADOPTION SERVICE S INCORPORATED, responsible for managing the foster network, coordinating adoption applications, and conducting in-depth counseling sessions. Sarah’s background is in social work and family counseling, which gives her a unique ability to assess the dynamics of human families and match them with a compatible pet, recognizing that a good match requires as much focus on the people as it does on the animal. She manages a complex network of over fifty active foster homes, providing ongoing support and training to ensure our animals thrive in a home environment before they are permanently placed. Sarah is the primary liaison between the public and our pets, known for her warm, non-judgmental approach during the adoption interview process, where she educates families on the realities of pet ownership and ensures all requirements are met. Her meticulous organizational skills and deep empathy for both human and animal clients ensure that every adoption is handled professionally, thoughtfully, and with the ultimate goal of achieving a perfect, lifelong placement for the pet.

David “Mac” McKenzie, Operations & Facilities Manager
David McKenzie, affectionately known as Mac, is the backbone of our daily operations, ensuring that the 7263 TURNER LAKE ROAD NW facility runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently for both our animal residents and our human staff. Mac is a former logistics specialist with the United States Marine Corps, and his expertise in organization and maintenance is applied daily to managing inventory, coordinating transport, overseeing facility repairs, and ensuring all enclosures meet stringent welfare and sanitation standards. His duties are critical to the health of the animals, as he manages the complex schedule of cleaning, feeding, and waste management, creating the low-stress, hygienic environment that is essential for rehabilitation. Mac is also responsible for managing vendor relationships and equipment procurement, consistently seeking out high-quality, durable, and animal-friendly supplies, allowing our care team to focus purely on the pets. Though he works mostly behind the scenes, Mac’s meticulous attention to detail and proactive approach to facility management directly translate into better outcomes and a safer, more comfortable existence for every pet waiting for their forever home.
Building a Network of Support, Awareness, and Responsible Pet Ownership.
